The Kansas City Chiefs have hired former Cleveland Browns head coach Romeo Crennel as their defensive coordinator.
The Chiefs had one of the worst defenses in the NFL in 2009, something that needs to change next year.
It’s already been a busy month for the Chiefs, who hired Charlie Weis as their offensive coordinator.
Interestingly enough, both men are returning to the old jobs they used to hold together with the New England Patriots.
Head coach Todd Haley is hopeful that maybe some of that New England magic can rub off on his team.

The Kansas City Chiefs have hired former Notre Dame head coach Charlie Weis as their new offensive coordinator.
The move will reunite Weiss with quarterback Matt Cassel, as the two worked together back in New England.
Cassel struggled this season after being traded from the Patriots to the Chiefs, so maybe Weis can help him.
It will also reunite Weis with Scott Pioli, the general manager of the Chiefs who also used to be in the New England organization.
It also helps that Weis is good friends with head coach Todd Haley and will have his trust running the offense.

The Kansas City Chiefs pulled off one of the biggest surprises of the season with a 44-24 win over the Denver Broncos.
Running back Jamaal Charles had another huge day, rushing for 259 yards and two touchdowns.
At this point, you wonder what else the running back has to do to convince the team he deserves the starting job next year.
The Chiefs went into halftime tied at 10 and held just a three-point lead heading into the fourth quarter.
It was the fourth quarter where Kansas City took control, outscoring the Broncos 17-0 and ending their playoff hopes.

The Kansas City Chiefs put up a surprising fight but still felt short in a 17-10 loss to the Cincinnati Bengals.
Kansas City’s defense really stepped up and turned in one of their best performances of the season.
Getting wide receiver Dwayne Bowe back into the lineup has been a big help for the offense. He had nine catches for 61 yards against a tough Bengals secondary.
Say what you want about head coach Todd Haley’s demanding style, but this team is still playing hard late in the season.
A lot of the players on the team are fighting for jobs next year and the chance to come back and be a part of a future winning organization.
